Brisbane-born baritone Harrison Hammett is currently completing his Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music under the guidance of Professor Margaret Schindler.
A regular performer in major productions at the Conservatorium, Harrison’s key roles include: Maestro Spinelloccio and Amantio di Nicolao in Gianni Schicchi for the 2024 Puccini Double Bill (directed by Lindy Hume, conducted by Johannes Fritzsch), Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Ali in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri as part of the 2024 Val Machin Opera Scenes. Later this year, he will perform Anfinomo in Katz-Chernin’s re-orchestration of Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria, and will also take on the titular role in Eugene Onegin for the 2025 Val Machin Opera Scenes.
Harrison has also performed ‘Masetto’ in Mozart’s Don Giovanni as part of the 2024 Cuskelly School of Music Opera Program, where he worked closely with Pacific Opera’s Bradley Gilchrist. In 2023, he portrayed The Policeman in Michael Gow’s Underworld: An Operatic Journey to Hell and Back with the QCGU.
To further refine his technical and artistic skills, Harrison plans to pursue postgraduate studies and performances abroad from 2026. In addition to his performances, he supports his studies by running a bartending business, offering custom cocktails for private events and large gatherings across Brisbane.
