About this concert
Be immersed in the sounds and stories of mother nature.
Join Shelli Hulcombe (soprano), Jolanta Kudra (soprano), and Camilo Lopez (baritone), accompanied by Francis Atkins (piano), as they explore song cycles with unique musical interpretations of mother nature.
This performance will feature Strauss’ Mädchenblumen, Ravel’s Histoires Naturelles, and Australian composer Betty Beath’s In This Garden, each of which paints scenes of fauna and flora. Also on the programme are popular songs by Chausson, Debussy, and Mahler.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to hear some of Australia’s finest emerging and established classical voices perform in the iconic architecture of Queensland’s Old Museum Building.
Foyer bar open prior to the performance. Concert duration approximately 70 minutes.
Audience feedback from Voxalis' most recent concert, Songs of Love:
"It featured some amazing local talent, sopranos Rachael Griffin and Anna Tafani, baritone Tom Nicholson and pianist Mark Connors. The program was superb and included a couple of song cycles, one in German by Robert Schumann. It was poetic and exquisite”. - Phil Brown, Courier Mail
“How wonderful was that concert last night, and perfect for some worn souls. We had gone in worrying about this and that, and came out totally transformed. Thank you so much”. - Zoe
