Classical Soprano and Crossover performer Tashana Hardy has just completed her Bachelor of Music in Performance (Classical voice) in 2023 under the tutelage of Dr Margaret Schindler. Originally from Newcastle, Tashana discovered her passion for Opera and Operetta after playing the role of ‘Mabel’ in Opera Hunter’s production of The Pirates of Penzance. Since then, she has performed the roles of ‘Fleta’ in Iolanthe (Directed by Stewart Maunder), ‘Cupidon’ in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld (QCGU) and the role of ‘Amore’ in the Universities production of ‘The Underworld’, scenes from Orfeo ed Euridice, directed by Michael Gow. In 2023, Tashana had the immense pleasure of being selected to perform ‘Home Sweet Home’ with esteemed pianist Daniel De Borah as part of the Conservatoriums Orchestra’s ‘Pasticcio ‘23’, arranged by Maestro Johannes Fritzsch. Tashana is very excited for another year of performing and will be playing the role of ‘Pamina’ in Die Zauberflöte at the Queensland Conservatorium in May. Alongside her classical voice studies, Tashana graduated from the esteemed ‘The Talent Development Project’ under the tutelage of Peter Cousens in 2018, where she explored her gift for song writing. As part of the program Tashana had the opportunity to record at Sony Studios and released her debut single ‘Falling’ with great success, leading to performances at the Qudos Bank Arena Member’s Lounge for established artists P!nk, Arctic Monkeys and Katy Perry.
